How Orchid Extender Enhances Company Growth
One of our clients came to us with a problem. They couldn't get Sage 300 data structures and functionality to support some of their business requirements. We'd like to walk you through the process taken and creative solutions our team developed to solve this medium-sized business' needs.
THE COMPANY
Western Marketing, Inc. founded in Abilene, Texas in 1953, is one of the nations top suppliers and distributors of various automotive and engine related accessories such as petroleum products, lubricants and coolants, as well as bulk oil storage tanks and pumps. Since the 50s, they have expanded to service an expanding customer base outside of the state of Texas.
THE CHALLENGE
WMI had a few major things that they needed that the Sage 300 couldn't deliver upon such as not knowing the date of each invoice that has been processed, not able to ensure that people were submitting their orders in whole units, not being sure the correct price was the one listed, and the standard cost records not being listed. They were also not able to show their data on each individual bulk oil tank to show how effective the placement of these tanks were. These problems were stunting WMI's growth as the system just wasn't effective for them.
THE SOLUTION
Fortunately, we had used the Orchid Extender platform on other sites, and saw its potential to solve WMI's problem. We were able to set up the Orchid Extender to block all orders if they did not have the quantities in whole units, were missing a standard cost record, and the correct price. We were also able to give them a custom screen to look up each oil tank to show the effectiveness in each export location and store any additional data that WMI may need.
THE RESULT
WMI was more than happy with the results, as they are now able to move the company forward confidently without worrying about any of their previous complications.
